Syllable Division Patterns


Good readers perceive where longer words divide. Here let's look at a couple of  examples: 

The most common syllable division pattern is Vowel - Consonant - Consonant - Vowel. When two consonants stand between two vowels, divide between the consonants (VCCV).

The second most common pattern is the Vowel – Consonant -Vowel. When one consonant stand between two vowels, divide before the consonant (VCV).
