Note to My Students and Their Families

Dear students and families,

I want to thank all of you for your dedication and effort in the fall semester. We could not have made it this far without your hard work and hearty support. Whether it's the Fall Festival or the Fun Run Booster-thon, each of you demonstrated your love for our school and your spirit of excellence.

You continued to show your big heart and love of learning throughout the semester. Our Superstar Showcase (GT Project) was one more example that convinced me how great you guys are. Many of you worked well with your partners to exhibit a high quality project. Every visitor could tell how much effort and time you put in.  Please continue your journey of curiosity and work hard.

As a Magic Garden gardener, I'm happy to see the growth of my students every day. I wish you a warm, safe, and interesting winter break. I'll see you on January 4th.

Best wishes,

Mrs. Waters

P.S. Don't forget to read everyday!

Welcome Back to School

Welcome to 3rd Grade!
I'm very excited to have your child in 3rd grade for the 2016-2017 school year! We look forward to helping our students become both team players and independent problem solvers.

The transition from 2nd grade to 3rd grade is a huge jump. Our students are moving into a learning environment where the stakes are much higher than ever before. 3rd grade is the first time that they will take both the STAAR Reading and Math assessments at the end of the year, and there is much work to do from the very first day to ensure that our kids are ready for that jump to 4th grade.

A couple of things are very important to guarantee the success of our 3rd graders. First, attendance and being on time must be a priority. A lot of what will be covered from day to day happens in the first 30 minutes of each day. We understand that sometimes things happen, but we have to do all we can to be on time and to miss as little instruction time as possible.
I strongly encourage you to be as involved as you can to better your child’s learning. Please participate in many different ways as possible. We will have a list of options for you at our Parent Orientation Night (details to come…).

I have high expectations, and are very optimistic about the year and what it will bring. Our kids are our future. Together, let’s have a wonderful and remarkable journey!

Kind regards,

Mrs. Waters
